Profound Experience

Youth Mission Trips have enabled me to reach out more effectively to a world in need. Not only have they increased my awareness of serving, but to also understand how God is at work with people of different cultures and circumstances. My perception of the world was dramatically altered and broadened as we traveled to new communities or countries that did not resemble our own. It was amazing and I can honestly say that it truly transcends all language, social, cultural, and economic barriers.
My group assisted with a variety of evangelistic and building projects. Typical daily and weekly projects consisted of building rooftops, painting houses, bible study with the children of the community, constructing fencing for loose farm animals, minor home improvement projects, assisting in already existing social service programs, and serving meals at the homeless shelter.
These short-term missions allowed me to see the mission field first-hand as I viewed the pressing needs of the world. An experience like this is profoundly affecting.
