Profound Experience

Youth Mission Trips have enabled me to reach out more effectively to a world in need. Not only have they increased my awareness of serving, but to also understand how God is at work with people of different cultures and circumstances. My perception of the world was dramatically altered and broadened as we traveled to new communities or countries that did not resemble our own. It was amazing and I can honestly say that it truly transcends all language, social, cultural, and economic barriers.
My group assisted with a variety of evangelistic and building projects. Typical daily and weekly projects consisted of building rooftops, painting houses, bible study with the children of the community, constructing fencing for loose farm animals, minor home improvement projects, assisting in already existing social service programs, and serving meals at the homeless shelter.
These short-term missions allowed me to see the mission field first-hand as I viewed the pressing needs of the world. An experience like this is profoundly affecting.

Phenomenon

Youtube is simply...amazing. It has given anyone with access to the internet, the opportunity to broadcast either themselves or other sorts of video media. Not only can people post their own media, but they can literally search for just about anything-from music videos to lessons to how to change the tire of your car, or even a video clips from both movies and television shows.
With just a mouse click away, Youtube can keep people entertained for hours. And everyone wants to famous in their own way, so Youtube can also be used as a tool to put yourself and your talents out for the world to see and judge.

2 Truths and 1 Lie

Hey everyone, my name is Jessica and I'm a sophomore here at Columbia College Chicago, majoring in Marketing Communications with a concentration in Advertising. Considering that there seems to be a lot of new people in the class, this seems to be a nice ice-breaker. The game is pretty self-explanatory, meaning I thought of 2 truths and one lie about myself and it is up to you guys to figure out which one is the lie. So here it goes...
I was born and raised in San Diego, California, until  the year 2000 when my family moved to Barrington, Il, which is a northwest suburb of Chicago. I have 5 siblings consisting of 3 brothers and 2 sisters who I love to death. I was born an identical twin, but unfortunately she passed.
